Obituary of Lawrence E. Kociemski

Lawrence E. “Larry” Kociemski of Lancaster, NY passed away on March 8, 2026. Born in Buffalo, NY on July 10, 1955, to Josephine (nee Springer) and Eugene Kociemski.

Larry lived life on his own terms and never lost his sense of adventure. For many years he worked at Mentholatum in Buffalo, but after retiring he found the life he truly loved traveling with the carnival. The road became his home, and the people he met along the way quickly became like family. Larry had a way of making friends wherever he went, and those who knew him knew his big heart, easygoing nature, and the laughter he brought with him.

His travels often took him out West, a place where he felt especially at peace. Las Vegas, Nevada held a special place in his heart and was one of his favorite destinations. No matter where he wandered, Larry carried with him a love for freedom, adventure, and good company.

When he wasn’t traveling, Larry enjoyed time at the farm and the simple joys of life there. He had a special bond with his beloved dog Moe and his goat Easter, who brought him endless happiness. Larry was also a proud member of the Jolly Roger SAC and a devoted member of Bills Mafia, always cheering on his Buffalo Bills with pride.

Above all, Larry loved his family. In addition to his beloved parents, Josephine (nee Springer) and Eugene Kociemski.; he is survived by his loving daughter, Kristina Duck, and his cherished grandchildren, Connor, Cameron, and Alexavier, who brought him great pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, James (Wendy) Kociemski, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Larry was predeceased by his beloved sister, the late Darlene (late Michael) Pizzuti.

Larry will be remembered for his free spirit, his kindness, and the friendships he built everywhere he went. To know Larry was to have a friend for life, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
