Obituary of Kathleen M. (nee Pawarski) Chodkowski

Kathleen M. Chodkowski of Cheektowaga, NY, passed away on March 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 6, 1955, in Buffalo, NY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Dorothy (nee Rolinski) and Edwin Pawarski Sr.

Kathie was the beloved wife of the late John Chodkowski, whom she married on March 13, 1982. From the very beginning, they were inseparable—the best friends in every sense of the word. They cherished their time together, sharing endless laughter and joy. Their favorite adventures included trying their luck at the casino and setting sail on the sea while cruising.

Kathie worked as a Teacher’s Aide in the Buffalo Public Schools, where she was known for her kindness and caring nature. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching her favorite television shows, shopping trips, and dining out.

But above all else, Kathie’s heart belonged to her family. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by them, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. As “Nana,” she loved deeply, spoiled often, and created memories that will be treasured forever.

She was the devoted mother of Brenda (Desmond) Remmel, Jennifer (Kenneth) Kobylanski, and the late Philip Rubach Sr. Loving and proud Nana of Jackson, Daisy, Collin, Tre, PJ, and Taylor. Dear sister of Christine (late Donald) Freiert, Edwin (Geri) Pawarski Jr., and the late Michael (late Jackie) Pawarski and the late Lawrence (Rosa) Pawarski. Cherished sister-in-law of Christine (late Michael) Yaskow. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home Inc., 4929 Broadway, Depew, on Sunday from 1–4 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11 AM. All are invited to attend.
