Obituary of Janet E. (nee Pelletier) Corda
At the age of 79, Janet was reunited with her parents Elizabeth (nee Watson) and Rudolph Pelletier on December 25, 2024.
Studied Theology and Pastoral Ministry at Christ the King Seminary where she received her Pastoral Certificate. Mrs. Corda was an active parishioner at Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish, formerly St. James Church. Most recently she retired as Business Manager, after serving as Parish Secretary. She was also the behind the scenes liaison; Director of Faith Formation, Director of Outreach, Bingo Chairman, and member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She helped coordinate multiple Lawn Fetes, and Chicken BBQ’s. Janet was a recipient of the Lay Award of St. Joseph the Worker as presented by the Bishop. She was always around to lend a helping hand.
Mrs. Corda was a Felician Associate for numerous years where she participated in many community celebrations, retreats, and workshops.
Janet was a Skee Ball Pro. She loved to play any chance she was able.
Beloved wife of 58 years to James R. Corda.
Devoted mother of Janene Corda, Jennifer (Scott) Chowaniec, and John A. (Janine Klimeczko) Corda.
Loving grandmother of Kelsey Chowaniec, Erica Chowaniec, Natalie Corda and Alex Chowaniec.
Dearest sister of Margaret (George) Povinelli, Patricia (Thomas) Patterson, Gary (Maria) Pelletier, Karin (Bruce) Elder, late Lawrence (Crystalea) Pelletier, late Dennis (Renee) Pelletier and late Gregory (Seija) Pelletier.
Dear sister-in-law of George (Joanne) Corda, Norman (late Patricia) Corda, Mary (late Richard) Neth, Alice (late Robert) Gemerek, Gerald (Sandra) Corda, Joanne (William) Kreher, Paul (Julie) Corda, Ruth (late Gerald) Kremblas and the late Arthur Corda.
Mrs. Corda is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation in the Cichon- Borgosz Funeral Home, Depew Thursday January 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mother Teresa Parish at St. James Church 496 Terrace Blvd. Depew, Friday January 3rd at 10 AM.
