Obituary of Robert J. Naab Jr.

Of Williamsville, NY, passed away peacefully at ECMC with family by his side on January 10, 2025.

Born in Buffalo, NY, on January 30, 1977, Robert was the beloved son of Robert J. Naab Sr. and Isabel Rodriguez Thornton. He graduated from Lancaster HS and earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

Robert’s talents were as diverse as his passions. He was an accomplished cook, honing his skills in the kitchens of several top restaurants in the area before pursuing his engineering studies. As a structural engineer, Robert applied his expertise to shaping the world around him. Most recently, he found fulfillment in logistics, working for Amazon in Lancaster.

Music was Robert’s lifelong passion. A talented self-taught musician, gifted singer, and songwriter, Robert brought heartfelt expression to every note he played or sang. He had a special love for blues music, drawing inspiration from legends like B.B. King and Buddy Guy. Whether he was writing his own songs, playing his guitar, or singing, Robert’s music was a true reflection of his love for life.

Robert is survived by his sisters, Shiela Rodriguez of Buffalo, NY, and Christine Mills (Jim) of West Lafayette, IN; his cherished nieces, Nicole, Lucia, and Ava; his nephew, Robert; and family and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson’s Foundation in Robert's honor.
