I am sad with Shirley's sudden death. I was shocked that Shirley was gone so quickly so she is in peace with love. Shirley was so sense of humor by sharing funny stories in Midwest Deaf Ladies Golf Association. I enjoyed talking with Shirley through videophone few times that truly will miss that. Ladies golfers will never forget her story of hitting golf ball from tee to tree notch as we laughed so hard in 2014. It was fine memory of Shirley with her sweetness and happiness in her life! Patty Sue, I will support and comfort you all the way with my love in my heart. I miss you, Shirley. Love, Winnie Besant

I feel saddened when Shirley is no longer on earth, but she will be happy up in the heaven. I will never forget her great humor at the Midwest Deaf Ladies Golf Association (MDLGA) tournaments which she played for many years. She was always happy and fun loving to be around with. I am so glad she came to our MDLGA's 50the anniversary banquet two years ago so we will always remember her presence. She will be greatly missed at future MDLGA tournaments. I am saying I love Shirley and will see her in heaven… maybe playing golf up up there. RIP Shirley

March 13, 2016 I feel shocked and stunned to learn of Shirley Sloat's unexpected death. I offered Mass for her good health and did not expect that she would die so quickly. May she rest in peace with God. She was a very good Catholic woman with lots of faith in God. She is now with God, enjoying her eternal rest with all of her favorite dogs who departed before. I will offer a holy Mass in her honor tomorrow Monday morning, March 13th. Father Tom Coughlin, OP Miss. ~ Father Tom Coughlin, Madison, Ill

My sincere condolences to the Sloat Family. The Bible repeatedly speaks about the elimination of death and God's promise of everlasting life for mankind. Our Creator has the power and desire to put a permanent end to death. Soon this enemy, death, will be brought to nothing and we have the promise of everlasting life on a paradise earth. (1 Cor. 15:26; Psalms 37:10,11,29)

Patty Sue, Greg and I extend our deepest sympathy to you. Loss is difficult at any stage, but the speed of this cancer seems especially cruel. We are thinking of you and want you to know you are not alone. Take care of yourself in the coming weeks. Shirley is lucky to have had you in her life and that she had people around her that loved and cared for her, especially in her last days.
