Obituary of Jakob James Patrick Zimpfer

Jakob James Patrick Zimpfer died tragically, on Saturday August 20th 2016, at the age of 6. Jakob is survived by his parents James Zimpfer and Meagan Zimpfer (nee Buscaglia); great grandparents, Charles and Judy Buscaglia and Thomas and Mary Judge: grandparents, David Zimpfer and Charles and Kim Buscaglia; Aunts, Leann (Kevin) Lapis, Darcet (Bradley) West, Sasha (Josh) Gentry, and Felicia (Michael) Alicie. Jakob attended Cleveland Hill Elementary School. He loved sports. Jakob especially loved football because he loved to tackle. He played for the West Seneca Renegades, where he will forever be the 5th honorary Captain of the team. Jakob also loved soccer, saying he loved it because he could just run and run and run and run. Jason, Andrew and Gage were Jakob’s favorite friends. He and his cousin Gage played superhero for hours when they were together. Jakob had cousins in Colorado and loved to travel to see Lena, Josi, Hazel and Johny. He traveled to TX to see his grandparents and cousin Charlie. Jakob loved to hold his infant cousin Wesley and would ask to keep him overnight so they could snuggle. Jakob loved gym, motorcycles and the Chinese buffet. His favorite food was sushi, he loved picking fresh vegetables out of his papa’s garden and of course, can’t forget ice cream. Jakob was a joyful, friendly child who was able to make even the shyest of children come out of their shell. Jakob always talked about becoming a police officer when he grew up. Our hearts ache. A memorial is being held outdoors (his favorite place to be) on Saturday August 27th 2016 from 2pm to 6pm, at Chestnut Ridge Park at Shelter 9A. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jakob’s life.
