Obituary of Nancy A. (nee Nagel) Bartel

Nancy Bartel (nee Nagel) Nancy passed away peacefully at home in Depew April 18, 2021 surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward R. Bartel. She is survived by her daughter Linda and husband John Ryznar, daughter Sandra and husband James Brewster, her son Edward Bartel, her son Robert his wife Melissa Bartel and her son Richard Bartel. She was the loving grandmother of Michael (Victoria) Ryznar, Susan Ryznar, Lisa (Eric) Giannino, Jeremy Brewster, Jeffrey Brewster, Jennalyse Nichols, Julia (Eduardo) Machado, Benjamin Bartel, Alex Bartel, Matthew (fiancee Ashley) Bartel, Luke Bartel and Hanna Bartel. She was the cherished great grandmother of Charlotte Ryznar, Cecelia Ryznar, Olivia Ryznar, Morgan Peets, Jake Giannino, Mason Giannino, Carter Nichols, Serenity Parsons and Selena Bartel. Nancy loved dancing, crafting and bowling. She was a past member of the Lancaster Home Bureau, Lancaster Civic Club, numerous bowling leagues and the Red Hat Society. She loved baking and will be remembered for her delicious desserts, full cookie cannister and polish pierogis. The family will most remember: - Her love of desserts, enjoyment in eating out and her dislike of eating alone. - Her enjoyment of weekend getaways, especially to Fort Erie and Canandaigua - Her love of crafting and making things for the family, including Christmas ornaments for every member of the family every Christmas. - Her record of being to the Erie county fair 82 out of her 84 years and making a day of it every year. - Her love of Polkas, dancing and singing. - How she never forgot a birthday, calling family members to sing the “Happy Birthday” song to them on their special day. Private services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Depew and interment at Lancaster Rural Cemetery on April 22, 2021. Flowers are gratefully declined.
