A remembrance of Dan Zwolinski by Pat Flynn
I was a field rep for NYSUT for one year in a period the Irish would call “the troubles”.
There was a cadre of us, the new recruits, called to engage in numerous training sessions and to serve on the walls. It was under these conditions I met Dan and a kinder, more reliably knowledgeable, more giving man never trod the Earth. Later, I returned to NYSUT service as a member of the headquarters’ support staff. In every memory I have of Dan he is smiling, eyes shining, always poised to bequeath an insightful and jocular observance on the passing scene. In retirement, we met at the gatherings of our fellow NYSUT retirees. When I saw Dan enter the room, I knew some form of gentle frolic was bound to ensue.
My sincere condolences to Dan’s family and loved ones.

The family of Lee 'Barney' Kellogg (1932-1995) and wife, Joyce, extend to each of you our most-sincere sympathy in the passing of your loved one.
Dan and I worked in the NYSUT Western NY Offices; he with the Buffalo Area Office and I in the Jamestown Office for many years. It was always fun working with Dan and joining in our joint festivities a few times a year during holidays and workshops. He was a lovely man, with a terrifically devilish sense of humor.
Stay strong; I know you will.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the Dan’s death. Our association goes back to the early 1960’s when he, Henry Baran, Chester Czyrny, Sheila Gibbs, and I organized the Depew Teachers Organization into a strong union setting the pace in Western New York. Unfortunately, I am the only one remaining from that leadership team. Dan continued his service to teachers with his long tenure with the New York State United Teachers. He will be remembered for his dedication to education. Rest In peace longtime friend.

My husband & I send sincere sympathy to Dan's family & friends. As a NYSUT Field Representative his skill and true concern for the welfare of those he served was greatly appreciated. We felt gratitude for all he did in his career. We felt fortunate to also call him "friend".
