Donald and Elizabeth were wonderful to meet and talk with at one of the many OLP spaghetti dinners. Donald and my father knew each other from his work, and they made me feel welcome in their company. It is sad to know Donald has passed, and a privilege to have met someone who served our community as long and as well.

Wow, what a beautiful soul of a man. So many years I have known him to give his all through the Italian American Police Association. Elizabeth and family I can't say how said I am for your loss and ours. I really enjoyed his company at all the meetings and parties, he was such a great volunteering person. So kind, I can't say enough about this man. I am sorry I can't pay my last respects, I have the flu.
Don, God bless you, and I know you are in heaven because of your great heart.
I am sorry friend you left this earth, but grateful to have known you.
Yours truly,
Lori McVicar-Peltan

I had the privilege to help take care of Don through Hospice. I got to know his wife and daughter as well. He was one of the sweetest men I have ever met. His laugh was one of my favorite things about him. We always said goodbye with a special fist bump. You will truly be missed by many ...Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Rest IN Peace my friend...

I remember growing up on Sanilac Street just down from the Ventura family. One of my fondest memories is gathering with friends to play basketball and football in the backyard.
As often happens in life, we all went our separate ways into adulthood. I came from a family of 7 kids and I was lucky enough to remain in Depew where I was fortunate enough to reconnect with the Ventura family otherwise known as the Sanilac boys. The one thing that I learned from this was the example of humbleness that Don and Tony and Tom lived by.
Don I will never forget your joyful laughter, friendship, and your caring fellowship towards all of us. God speed.

Loving memories of a wonderful neighbor and friend. Always there for us for anything, it was so comforting to have a police officer right next door to us. My son when he was little had an old fashioned pedal car, and he made a license plate on the back of it with LPD on it cuz he copied it from Don’s police vehicle ❤️. A wonderful man and friend!

Donny was always more fun than should be allowed by law! His laugh, sense of humor and the love he felt for his beautiful bride made him a joy to be around. May you R.I.P. good man.
