Obituary of John Joseph Malovich Jr.
John was born in Millard Fillmore Hospital on April 1st,1959, where his parents, John & and Dianne and older sister Michelle welcomed him to the world. He lived most of his life in Western New York, with brief residences in Orlando Fl. and Los Angeles Ca. When John was a teenager, he loved riding dirt bikes and had fond memories of racing at Zoar Moto Park. He loved and treasured his high school buddies Jim Hartway, Russ Kibler & Ken Parmenter with whom he graduated from Attica High School in 1977.
It was while working at Byrncliff Country Club, John learned about the Hospitality Business and became a very accomplished Bartender carrying his craft to many places including the Engine House in Batavia, Rick’s in East Aurora and most recently Duende @ Silo City in Buffalo. When he was in Los Angeles, he managed The Rita Hayworth restaurant at Sony Motion Pictures.
John had an extreme interest in films and served as Assistant Casting Director for the films: Poltergeist III and Planes and Trains & Automobiles. He was a Script Editor for Paramount Pictures and helped write and acted in “Gump Fiction.”
John was a very private and quiet person who adored the outdoors, nature and watching the wildlife from the serenity of the back deck over his 5 acres in Elma. He is fondly remembered by many for his vivacious smile and his generosity of spirit, time and money. He was known for his funny stories, droll wit and his deadpan remarks. He was a magical man of mystery. John, with his contagious smile, let you know where you stood with him. He was loved by many who called him “my best friend”. Riding the roads & hills of Wyoming County on his Triumph was one of his true joys.
During a conversation with his sister Michelle, John was asked; “Why do you think you are you are here? What’s your purpose?” His reply was “To take care of Mom and Dad, which is my most prized accomplishment.” He followed that up with “I think my job here is done”.
John is survived by his sister, Michelle, his brother -in- law, William and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends, all, who will miss him immensely,
Until we are reunited once more in Heaven and a family again, Jock know that I love you and miss you so, so much. And, as we said as children to each other: Goodnight, sweet dreams, pleasant dreams, goodnight, I love you.
